Premature constriction of ductus arteriosus

A clinical case study of Premature constriction of ductus arteriosus diagnosed via fetal echocardiography at 38 weeks of gestation.
Key Clinical Findings:
- Prominent Right Ventricle: Slightly bulging/herniating into the left ventricle.
- Hemodynamic Alteration: Decreased flow in the right side of the heart in comparison to the left ventricle.
- Ductus Status: Complete absence or significant constriction showing no active forward flow in the ductus.
- Vascular Responses: Dilated proximal pulmonary artery and reversal of flow in the aorta.
- Ductus Venosus (DV): Occasional reversed flow observed at the end of the cardiac cycles in the DV clip.
Management & Outcome:
Due to the risk of fetal right heart failure and intrauterine compromise, immediate delivery of the baby was recommended. The delivery was performed successfully and the baby is now doing fine.
